The Butterfly

Probably one of the most frequently played slip jigs on Irish sessions. However, there are also many great recording in smaller settings, especially harp in combination with tin whistle or low whistle. For this post I have used a recording with harp and D-low whistle I have used for this post. The tune is often played in a set in combination with A Fig For Kiss.

In the sheet music below you can find the notes and chords of The Butterfly. There are many beautiful variations for the chords and it is definitely worthwhile snooping for some nice recordings. To keep it simple, I have taken the chords how it is mostly played in the traditional way and on sessions.
