Ivoirine

Beautiful balfolk tune from the great French band Djal. The dance is variation of the gavotte also known as gavotte de l’Aven. The gavotte, a lively peasants’ kissing dance, is from the baroque era and became fashionable at the 17th- and 18th-century courts of France and England. The gavotte l’Aven is creation from folk balls in the early 2000’s, just just like the mazurka, the scottish or the asymmetrical waltzes. Enjoy this great composition.

In the PDF file below you can find the notes and chords of the tune.

To listen to song and play along, I have taken this recording from Djal’s first album Extra Bal.
