This beautiful tune was recorded by Altan on their first album in 1987. On the original recording Frankie Kennedy plays the tune on flute. Unfortunately, Frank passed away in 1994. On this spine-chilling live version it is Ciarán Tourish playing the tin whistle. He normally plays the fiddle.
Very special in the tune is the natural F that is played on the tin whistle. It can be played by half covering the E hole, though it might take some practising.
In the sheet music you can find the notes of the main melody line as played by the tin whistle as well as the notes of the second melody line as played by the violin.
