St Anne’s Reel

St Anne’s Reel is a popular Irish session tune especially under fiddle and guitar players, but is also perfectly suited to play on tin whistle, mandolin or any other instrument. There is not much known about the origin of this reel, but next to being a traditional Irish tune, it is also popular to amongst bluegrass players. You can find a wide variation of recordings on YouTube. If you go through some of the recordings and sheet music available on the internet, you will quickly find out that are several variations on the melody line. I wrote down the notes in the way I normally play it, but just look and listen around and play the variations you like.

In the sheet music below you can find the notes and chords of St Anne’s reel.
